As a Good Down There Ambassador, NSO is distributing screening kits and educational materials. Kit distribution focuses on African American/Black people, 45 years of age or older. NSO was recently part of “Pandemic Perspectives”. This virtual panel discussion hosted by PPE4ALL centered around our work within the communities we serve and how the pandemic may have impacted our work along with the challenges we faced and continue to battle. NSO was joined by Beans Café in Alaska. The Race is over but the cause is not. We are still raising funds to meet our goal until the end of September. Any donation $35 or over will receive a shirt. We are excited to announce that NSO recently received donations from two local bike shops for raffle prizes for NSO’s Handlebars for the Homeless fundraiser! Rick from Bikes, Blades and Boards, and Shayne from Metropolis Cycles Bike Shop & Repair have each donate a bicycle helmet that NSO will raffle off during Handlebars for the Homeless festivities. These are exciting new partnerships that will benefit the organization greatly. Thank you to Rick and Shayne.
