Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
- 7:00 a.m. - Registration begins, Music, exhibits & kids activities begin
- 8:15 a.m. - Kiddie Run begins
- 9:00 a.m. - Run begins
PLEASE NOTE: A one mile walk route will be marked for anyone who would like to take a shorter route and activities will be planned for those not walking.
RiverRun & Walk will take place rain or shine
In case of inclement weather, please check in at the registration area to turn in collected donations and to receive your 2008 NSO 5K Detroit RiverRun & Walk T-shirt.
FORM A TEAM
Sign up as a team with your friends, family or co-workers
What a great opportunity for your company to support the programs and services of NSO. Designate team captains from various departments to recruit other colleagues.
Set a fundraising goal and send emails to everyone you know to ask them to join and support you. Limit 5 individuals per team.
Registraion: $100
Register on or before Sept. 2, 2008 to be eligible; $120 registration fee from Sept. 3 to Race Day.
Team Helping Hands Award
The Helping Hands Award will be given to the team that has raised the largest donation. Awards will also be given to the most Spirited Team. So be creative, excited and have fun!
Deadlines:
To be considered to the Helping Hands Award, your donations must be collected and recorded with NSO no later than Friday, August 22, 2008.
Tips for Teams!
Start Early and Set a Team Goal
Start a letter writting campaign to family, friends and co-workers. Let them know that you are walking with NSO to raise money for the area's most underserved individuals. Talk with them about the importanace of meeting the needs fo these people to help empower their lives. A personal appeal from you to your friends, family and colleagues asking for their support is priceless.

COURSE ROUTE
The start of the RiverRun will take place on Atwater Street, directly behind Joe Louis Arena. We will run, jog or walk 1.5 miles passing the GM Renaissance Center, Hart Plaza and then return on the famed Detroit RiverWalk to enjoy the panoramic views along the beautiful Detroit River.
Restrooms and water stop along the route.
