Striving to improve mental health and quality of life for senior adults
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Older Adult Services is to provide mental health outreach, residential and advocacy services, and to help older adults reach their maximum potential and remain active community participants.
NSO's Older Adult Services (OAS) is a nationally recognized mental health program for Wayne and Oakland County residents age 60 and over and for adult nursing home resident age 18 and over. Services are community/outreach based, not office based.

RESIDENTIAL CARE PROGRAM
The Residential Care Program offers independent and dependent lifestyles for older adults 60 and over and OBRA consumers 18 and over. A full range of clinical, psychiatric nursing, and occupational therapy services are provided for residents in supported living settings.

COMMUNITY PLACEMENT AND ADULT FOSTER CARE HOME MONITORING FOR THE CARELINK AND CONSUMERLINK NETWORK
SERVICES
- Placement of persons out of State and community hospitals into community living settings.
- Adult foster care home monitoring for compliance with environmental standards, person-centered plan compliance and adherence to recipient rights.
- All Direct Care Staff receive the Michigan Department of Community Health Group Home Certified Training. This includes courses on Working with People, Nutrition, CPR, First Aid, Recipient Rights, Health and Medications, and Environmental Emergencies.
