Project Helping Hands
Project Helping Hands is a team of dedicated mental health and substance abuse providers, trained case managers and para-professionals who respond to calls and are equipped to provide the homeless with immediate screening and triage on the street.
This mobile professional outreach team can quickly get to homeless individuals where they are, and after an initial assessment, transport them to an appropriate facility based on their needs to receive proper care and support.
Project Helping Hands is a collaboration of NSO and the City of Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion’s Bureau of Substance Abuse, Prevention, Treatment and Recovery.
