The Manager of Operations is responsible for the physical integrity of the building: creating a welcoming, safe and secure environment. Position is also responsible for programming to help meet the basic needs, enhance the quality of life and increase the social skills of consumers. This position supervises the HMIS coordinator, shift supervisors, consumer advocates and monitors. Status: Full-time Requirements: BA/BS/BSW, MA/MS/MSW preferred. 3-5 years experience in human services with managerial/supervisory responsibilities. Social Worker Licensure from the State of Michigan preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills. Security Guard |
Profile: |
Position will patrol and inspect NSO property in order to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism and other illegal activities. Position will monitor electronic security and surveillance devices; check credentials of persons entering and leaving NSO premises; enforce laws on NSO property, deter criminal activity or other problems; and write reports outlining observations and activities during assigned shift. May also interview witnesses or victims, prepare case reports and testify in court. In addition, position will act as the reception area contact person for visitors and clients entering the building; will answer the phone, verify appointments and client names using computer terminal and route communication for staff regarding clients. Position will maintain order and protect NSO property, staff, and consumers. Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor to aid in the overall security functions of the unit. Status: Full-time Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 to 2 years relevant experience in the security field or related area. Appropriate certification or licensure as a Security Guard or in the security field is preferred. Possess good written and verbal skills. Relevant experience working with the public required. This position provides a broad range of community organizing services. This is a liaison position working with youth, families and community groups servicing the Hmong community to combat violence and substance abuse. The Community Organizer will have a high level of engagement with program participants in order to promote youth development through a strengths-based approach. This position coordinates youth meetings and forums. Facilitates youth participation in a collective decision-making processes. Helps youth groups identify issues to address objectives that are realistic with attainable goals that promote wider youth involvement, substance abuse and violence prevention. The Community Organizer helps design and conduct youth leadership and life skills training, organize and supervise youth trainers for youth-led workshops. Compiles, records and prepares statistical reports as required. Status: Full-time Requirements: BA/BS/BSW and 2 years experience in human services. Social Work license from the State of Michigan preferred. Experience with the Hmong population. Community organizing experience preferred. Excellent computer, organizational and documentation skills. Profile: |
The Peer Mentor position is utilized to transition a helping hands consumer from homelessness into community participation. This is done by providing guidance to the individual utilizing the experience gained by successfully completing the transition his/her self. The Peer Mentor helps the individual walk the path of recovery toward community inclusion and participation, independence, and productivity. Status: Part-time Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. A Peer Mentor must have successfully received services from community mental health (CMH) for a mental illness for a minimum of one year. This is both an administrative and clinical position. Administrative responsibilities include developing an annual report, monitoring reports of service providers in the state-wide gambling treatment network, attend meetings with state contract manager, participation in agency meetings, as indicated, coordination of clinical program activities, preparation of utilization review and other quality improvement reports, preparation and monitoring of billing reports for the Administrative Services Department, coordination with the Emergency Telephone Services Unit as related to the 24 Hour Gambling Helpline.
