NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE ORGANIZATION TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S MEETING AND REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY
Public Board of Director's Meeting and Report to the Community to take place at Greater Grace Temple
WHAT: Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) will host its second annual public Board of Director's Meeting and Report to the Community at Greater Grace Temple on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Greater Grace Temple is located at 23500 W. Seven Mile Rd between Lahser and Telegraph roads. Former U.S. District Attorney and current NSO Board Member Jeffrey Collins will preside over the swearing-in of several new board members who will join the NSO board that evening.
WHY: NSO is celebrating 55 years of providing programs for the homeless, children and adults with developmental disabilities, older adults with mental illness, and youth against gun violence. President and CEO Sheilah P. Clay will highlight the positive and important work that NSO has been providing the community for the past year and celebrate the agency's many achievements.
Attendees will enjoy a reception, silent auction and dinner. The evening will also honor several individuals, organizations and unsung heroes who have championed the work of NSO by providing resources and creating community awareness benefiting the consumers. Several NSO consumers will also be awarded for their commitment, determination, and courage to successfully change their lives and inspire others by their example. George Gaines, Former NSO Board member and current member of the Detroit-Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency and Advantage Health Centers/Detroit Health Care for the Homeless, will be honored with the President's Award.
