Become A Place to Call Home
Housewarming Party Host!
A Place to Call Home Housewarming Party is an opportunity for an individual, family, business, faith-based organization, club, school or community group to invite friends, relatives, co-workers and members to donate quality, new, household items needed to make an apartment a home in the NSO Bell Building.
Whether you make your Housewarming Party part of a holiday celebration, an upcoming birthday party, a quiet get-together or reach out to family and friends online to donate, your efforts will be greatly appreciated by a formerly homeless neighbor.
NSO will provide all of the information you need to host a party—from invitations and party planning check lists to a Target gift registry and thank you cards You invite friends, relatives, neighbors and coworkers to the party and ask them to each purchase a gift from the registry. Each apartment registry includes approximately 100 items valued at a total of $750. Items range from a $65 microwave to a $ .49 salt shaker. NSO will collect the donations and give you an opportunity to help us set up the apartment prior to the resident’s arrival in the Fall of 2012. All party guests who make a donation will receive a warm thank you from NSO acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.
